Q: Can you tell me more about these Appointed Positions?
A: Once elected, the SGA President & SGA Vice President will nominate individuals to serve as SGA Public Relations Officer, and SGA Treasurer. Once nominated, the Board of Representatives will vote to approve or reject the nominees (this is very similar to how the U.S. Senate approves Presidential appointees).
Once approved, those positions will serve at the discretion of the SGA President and SGA Vice President as part of the Executive Board.
Q: How do I declare my intention to run for President or Vice President?
A: There are several ways to make such a declaration:
(1) You can pick up a Declaration of Intention to Run Form from outside of the Student Involvement Office, fill it out, and return it to Josh Steger, the SGA Advisor, by Noon on Wednesday, April 18.
(2) You can print off a copy of the Declaration of Intention to Run Form and turn it in by Noon on Wednesday, April 18.
Q: If I have declared my intention to run for office, when can I start campaigning?
A: You may begin campaigning as soon as your eligibility to run for the designated position has been officially approved. Campaigning before you have been notified may result in you becoming ineligible to run for office in this election.
Q: When is the election for President and Vice President?
A: The SGA General Election for President and Vice President will be held on the top floor of the Student Union on Wednesday, April 25. Students will be able to fill out a ballot on that day beginning at 10:00 AM and going until 4:00 PM. Students MUST bring a PSC Student ID Card in order to vote, and may only vote once.
