Overview

Your Catamount Card is the Keyser campus version of the Mountaineer Card. This versatile card is not only an identification card, but also acts as a meal card, debit card, access card and key card. It is important to carry your ID card with you at all times. 

Note: Your first Catamount ID Card is free.

Submit Your Own Catamount ID Card Photo

Students and employees must upload a photo online to be used as their official Catamount ID Card photo. To pick up an ID students must present a photo ID such as a valid driver's license. 

Student ID pick up times and locations are: 

  • Residence Hall Students: Pick up Student IDs during the check-in process. 
  • Commuter Students: Pick up Student IDs in the Administration Building, Service Desk beginning Monday, August 14th from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. *YOU MUST SUBMIT YOUR PHOTO ONLINE IN ORDER TO RECEIVE YOUR ID

Photo Requirements: 

  • DO upload recent photo that reflects your current appearance  
  • DO take photo against a plain, light background   
  • DO keep your face forward, head straight and eyes open   
  • DO NOT upload a filtered or black and white photo  
  • DO NOT include hats or sunglasses in the photo (religious and medical garments are permitted)   
  • DO NOT include people, animals or objects in the background 

Your submission should  resemble a driver's license or passport photo. 

Submission Instructions for Incoming Students: 

  1. If you attended NSO, you will receive an email to your MIX (Gmail) inbox asking you to upload your ID picture. Open the email and click the  Submit Your Photo button to get started. When prompted, sign in with your WVU Login username and password.

    Note: If you are a first-time student and did not attend NSO, go to idphoto.wvu.edu. Enter your WVU Login credentials if you are prompted to sign in.
  2. Review the photo requirements, then tap or click to upload your photo. 
  3. Once uploaded, your photo will be prepared and screened by the Mountaineer Card Bot. Tap or click Next to continue. 
  4. Upload proof of identification. This must be a driver’s license, military ID, state ID or passport. The name on your identification must match WVU records. 
  5. After you’ve uploaded both photos, Mountaineer Card bot will tell you if it thinks your photo will be approved or denied, giving you a chance to choose a new one if necessary. If it looks good, click  Submit & Sign Out

Next steps: You will receive an official decision via MIX email within three business days, after your submission has been reviewed by Service Center staff. If your photo is rejected, you will need to submit a new one that meets the guidelines. Residence Life students will pick up their ID’s at move in as long as they have submitted their photo. Commuter students can stop by Administration Building Service Desk during normal business hours beginning August 15th.

  2. Review the photo requirements, then tap or click to upload your photo.

Replacement ID Cards:

Replacement cards can be obtained in the Administration Building Service Desk if your card is lost, stolen, damaged, or broken. A charge of $20 will be charged to your student account at that time.

MyMountaineerCard is a one-stop, on-line shop for Mountie Bounty, the debit plan that allows you to place funds on your Catamount Card for uses on the Keyser campus, the Morgantown campus and various vendors in Morgantown.  From this website, you can:

  • Add funds-Guests, family, and friends can also make a deposit
  • Check your spending history
  • Report your card lost/stolen
  • Check on machine availability for laundry services
