Parking Regulations

*Note:  please read the following statements, guidelines, and policies before filling out the form located at the bottom of this webpage.

GENERAL STATEMENTS

The Potomac State College University Police Department is responsible for development and enforcement of traffic and parking regulations under the authority vested in the University by West Virginia Code, Chapter 18B, Article 4, Section 6. In addition to these regulations, all applicable state laws will be enforced on campus. The regulations were formulated after consultation with faculty, staff, and students and are subject to approval by the Campus President. University Police officers and parking control attendants will enforce the provisions of this document.

Potomac State College reserves the right to change these rules as the need arises. Official changes will be sent through PSC E-News, WVU Portal, and widely disseminated by other means. Faculty, staff, and students are expected to know and comply fully with current regulations.

VEHICLE REGISTRATION

Between 5:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., every motor vehicle, including motorcycles, driven and parked anywhere on campus by a student or college employee must display a current parking permit.

VISITOR PARKING

Visitors to campus must park in designated spaces on campus with an obtained visitor parking permit.

ADA PARKING

Standard blue signs currently identify ADA parking spaces. Such spaces are reserved strictly for vehicles bearing handicapped license plates or identification as verified by other states. Any vehicle parking in an ADA space without official handicap certification displayed on the vehicle will be subject to a fine up to $500 and will be towed at the owner’s expense (WV Code 17C-13-6 Amended). 

Temporary handicapped permits will be issued at the University Police Department upon official documentation of the handicap.

ADA PARKING IS ENFORCED 24 HOURS PER DAY.

PARKING ON CITY STREETS

Parking on city streets surrounding the college are permit required. You must obtain a parking permit from the City of Keyser.


PARKING VIOLATIONS AND TOWING

Please be advised that West Virginia Code WV 18B-4-6, Section G, allows West Virginia University and its regional campuses to tow vehicles after three parking tickets.
