Diversity Peer Academy
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then you should consider participating in PSC’s Diversity Peer Academy this semester.
We are recruiting students who will be paired with peer mentors to participate in this free, five-week program.
You will have the freedom and flexibility to work with your mentor to determine the number of points each of you can earn and how quickly you earn them. Points can be earned in the following ways:
1. Attend DPA meetings (1 pt. each time)
2. Eat together (1 pt. each time)
3. Attend a campus activity/program together (1 pt. each time)
4. Meet on the Quad or in the Library or Academic Success Center for study time together (1 pt. each time)
5. Maintain a weekly journal of your DPA experiences (1 pt. each week)
Each week you should easily accumulate 5 points. Students who accumulate 12 or more points will be able to go on a free charter bus trip to Washington, DC, to visit the African American Museum and the Martin Luther King, Jr Memorial this spring. Lunch is included! Plus, you will receive a free t-shirt. All group meetings have free food. Don’t worry, group meetings will be held safely.
If you are interested or have questions, please email Shannon Meek at shannon.meek@mail.wvu.edu prior to September 25. The online application is available at go.wvu.edu/dpa-app. Once you complete and submit the application, you will be paired with a mentor.
This is a first-come first-serve opportunity and there are a limited number of spaces available for the program. If you are interested, act now.
