Student Health FAQs

Where is the Student Health clinic located?

We are conveniently located adjacent to Reynolds Hall on the Potomac State College campus.

What are the hours of operation of the Student Health clinic?

Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  We are closed Saturdays and Sundays. If you need emergecy services, please call 911.

What medical professionals staff your clinic?

Our medical professional team includes a medical director and a registered nurse.

What types of conditions can be evaluated in the walk-in clinic?

We see a variety of conditions including acute illnesses and minor injuries. Emergent issues will be triaged to the emergency department, and any chronic conditions will be referred to the appropriate provider.

Can I schedule an appointment?

No appointments are necessary for the initial visit.  Appointments may be made for follow-up care as needed. 

Are services at the Student Health Center free?

Both commuter and residential students are eligible for services at the Student Health Center.  Most services rendered are free.  

Is there a pharmacy on site?

No, prescription medication is not available at the clinic.

Do you ask my opinion about my experience?

Yes, if you give us your email address, you will receive a patient satisfaction survey as soon as you leave the clinic. We value your opinion regarding the healthcare services you received and use this feedback to improve our service.

Can my parents access my medical information by calling the clinic?

Due to HIPAA regulations, you will need to give permission for your parents to be able to access your medical information.  Nurses may discuss only current health concerns with the student’s written permission.
